McDonald-Wilson Dance Academy

RECITAL 2026

“Lights, Camera, Dance!”

University Theatre - 6:30pm

Welcome to Recital 2026

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents for their invaluable contributions in preparing costumes, providing backstage assistance, fundraising, and offering unwavering support. Your dedication and energy have made this event possible.

Please note that this is a dance recital, not a professional show. Our primary goal is to give our students the opportunity to experience dancing on stage before an audience of parents, relatives, and friends. To ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone and to protect the privacy of our dancers and their families, personal cameras, video cameras, and cell phone recordings are not allowed in the auditorium during the performances, as they can be distracting to both the dancers and the audience.

We respectfully acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples who have lived on, cared for, and danced on these lands for generations. We are deeply grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders, both past and present, whose wisdom continues to inspire and guide us.

Thank you for joining us in celebrating the hard work and talent of our students. Enjoy the show!

Message from the Director

Dear MWDA Families,

Welcome to Lights, Camera, Dance!

As the curtain rises on another recital season, we celebrate more than the dances you see on stage. We celebrate the courage it took to try something new, the friendships formed in the studio, the perseverance shown through challenges, and the confidence built one class at a time.

For over 50 years, McDonald-Wilson Dance Academy has remained committed to a non-competitive philosophy that nurtures each dancer as an individual. We believe that when children feel safe, supported, and valued, they discover not only a love of dance, but also the strength to shine in every area of their lives.

Tonight, our dancers become the stars of their own stories. Behind every costume change, every backstage hug, and every moment in the spotlight are countless hours of dedication from our students, families, and staff. Thank you for entrusting us to be part of your child's journey.

Whether this is your family's first recital or your final bow after many years at MWDA, we hope you take a moment to celebrate just how far these dancers have come. The memories made here, the confidence gained, and the sense of belonging they carry with them are what truly make the performance unforgettable.

Thank you for being part of our dance family. Sit back, enjoy the show, and let the magic of Lights, Camera, Dance! begin.

Warm regards,

Shana Eriksen, ARAD RTS
